Overview

100% online flexible learning

Our online Master of Education is designed to fit your life. You’ll study one subject at a time, giving you more breaks throughout the year and helping you achieve deeper focus.

Study where and when it suits you, so you’re in control.

Structure:

  • 8 subjects (100 credit points)
  • 2 specialisations
  • 4 core subjects plus 2 electives
  • Disciplined Inquiry Capstone (2 subjects)
  • Study 1 subject per 8-week study period
  • Graduate in as soon as 16 months.

As well as your core and elective subjects, your course will conclude with a capstone subject – an inquiry project focusing on your individual interests and career ambitions.

Specialisation options

Align your study with your goals. Our two specialisation options allow you to hone your expertise while expanding your education knowledge.

Educational Leadership

Leadership skills support you to influence growth and guide change. This specialisation will equip you to drive improvement and evolve to become an impactful educational leader with global context.

Gain practical knowledge in a range of leadership areas, including adaptive leadership and strategic thinking. Learn to influence and manage stakeholders to address education challenges. Support and guide educators through complex situations using social justice and inclusivity frameworks.

With practical applications embedded in every subject, you’ll be able to apply your learning to your professional practice from day one.

Student Wellbeing

Cultivate nurturing and inclusive learning environments that prioritise student success and wellbeing. You’ll develop interpersonal and leadership skills to help create settings that support diverse needs and positively influence learning outcomes.

Learn about – and take steps towards dismantling – structural conditions that influence learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Consider key wellbeing theories from global and First Nations perspectives as you explore questions of equity, inclusion and relevance to wider social inquiry.

Capstone project

After completing your core and elective subjects, online Master of Education students undertake an Inquiry Capstone project. Over two subjects, you’ll work through problem definition and mapping to develop a research-informed plan or KMS.

Drawing on the concepts, methods and skills learnt through this process, you’ll present your KMS in a conference presentation format that encourages peer learning and professional networking.
