Overview
Games are where art, storytelling and technology unite.
This major lets you develop technical and creative skills to create worlds with rules, characters with purpose and compelling stories that draw players in.
You’ll explore what makes a great game- whether it’s a unique story, engaging mechanics or an unexpected twist and learn how to bring your own ideas to life. You’ll use industry standard software including Unreal Engine in a core sequence of Game Studio subjects, that puts you into hands-on development from early on. You’ll build real projects individually and in teams, the way studios actually work. You’ll create interactive experiences, build virtual worlds and craft compelling narratives that connect with players on a deeper level.
Game Design studios are supported by subjects in which you’ll study the history and evolution of games, and where the medium is heading next, from narrative experimentation to emerging platforms, so your own design decisions are informed by the form's past and its future.
You don’t need prior experience making games to get started- just imagination, curiosity and a love of play.
