Overview
The Uni Ready Enabling Program prepares you for entry into the Bachelor of Science or the Bachelor of Commerce. It enables you to meet the VCE Year 12 Mathematical Methods prerequisite and build your readiness for university. Students will also complete two non-mathematics subjects from the first year of either the Bachelor of Science or the Bachelor of Commerce.
The Program offers a guaranteed pathway into the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne. To be eligible for guaranteed entry, you must successfully complete all four subjects and achieve a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65. By entering through this pathway, you will be granted 25 credit points of advanced standing in either the Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Commerce for the two non-mathematics subjects completed.
While the guaranteed Bachelor entry applies only to the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Commerce, subjects successfully completed in this program may support entry into other degrees at the University of Melbourne or at other universities. Completing the two mathematics subjects will satisfy the VCE Year 12 Mathematics Methods entry requirement for degree programs. Please note that other degrees will have their own specific entry requirements.
Structure
The program has two pathways: one into the Bachelor of Science, the other into the Bachelor of Commerce (see below for course structure details).
- All students will undertake two units of preparatory, mathematics-focused study (Bridging Mathematics A/B), which satisfies the VCE Units 3 and 4 Mathematical Methods entry requirement and builds mathematics-preparedness ahead of Bachelor entry.
- Students will undertake an additional two non-mathematics subjects specific to either the Science or Commerce pathway. These are pre-approved electives offered to first-year Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Commerce students. Students will receive advanced standing credit recognised for these subjects when they enter the Bachelor program.
