Overview
Identify lung pathology in COVID-19 patients earlier than CXR. Use sterile plastic sheaths to prevent contamination of the portable ultrasound machine.
Lung and basic cardiac ultrasound can be very useful tools in the assessment of patients with COVID-19 disease.
You will also find that learning lung ultrasound is much easier than you might have expected.
There are also some tips on how to use a small handheld ultrasound device within a sterile plastic sheath in order to try and prevent or minimise any contamination of the equipment.
