Tuition fees (exchange)
If you’re coming to the University of Melbourne on exchange, you won’t pay tuition fees to Melbourne. Your fees are covered by the agreement we have in place with your home institution.
Course codes
All courses available to international students are registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
As an exchange student, you’ll be applying to study in one of the following courses:

Tuition fees (study abroad)
If you’re applying for the study abroad program you’ll pay a set tuition fee per semester. This allows you to enrol in three (37.5 credit points) or four (50 credit points) subjects. You will asked in your application if you wish to take three or four subjects.
Fees are charged for each semester you are enrolled and must be paid before the commencement of each semester of study. Semester 1 covers the period January to June. Semester 2 runs from July to December.
Most subjects (units) are worth 12.5 credit points and students should have permission from their home institution to undertake a 37.5 credit point program (equivalent of three subjects).

Other fees and expenses
Overseas Student Health Cover
If you require a student visa, you're required to take out compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). You need to have this in place for the duration of your stay. This will cover any medical treatment or emergency care needed when in Australia.
Student Services and Amenities Fee
International students don't pay a Student Services and Amenities Fee, it's covered by the University.
Study and living expenses
You'll need to consider additional costs, fees, and incidentals associated with your studies, such as administrative fees, materials or resources (for example, textbooks or equipment), and field trips. A guide to non-tuition fees is available in Terms and conditions for international students.

There are limited funding options available through the University of Melbourne, but you may be able to access support through your home country or institution.
