An international student shares how to embrace campus life

Winda is an international student studying a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance. With the support of the International Undergraduate Scholarship, Winda has enjoyed engaging in student clubs and campus life.

As a proud recipient of a Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship, Bachelor of Commerce student Winda is determined to achieve her best while studying at Melbourne.

“[The scholarship] motivates me to keep doing my best academically,” says Winda.

But as well as academic drive, the financial support of the scholarship has provided Winda with an opportunity to explore interests beyond her studies.

“The scholarship has helped me in many ways,” she explains.

“It gave me the opportunity to join the student-run Indonesian Film Festival.”

Through her volunteer work with the Indonesian Film Festival, Winda has helped facilitate screenings of Indonesian films including Q&A sessions with film directors.

With over 200 student clubs and organisations at the University of Melbourne, there is something to suit everyone as well as providing a great opportunity to meet other students.

Joining a club is something Winda recommends to new students at Melbourne.

Try to join clubs because you can find new friends, extend your network and also learn new skills.
