Admission criteria

  • A bachelors degree or equivalent in human resource management or
  • A bachelors honours degree or equivalent in any discipline area or
  • A three-year undergraduate qualification and at least 50 credit points or equivalent of graduate study in any discipline area or
  • A three-year undergraduate qualification in any discipline area and at least two years of relevant full-time work experience (or equivalent) or
  • A minimum of six years relevant full-time work experience (or equivalent).

English language requirements

All applicants to the University of Melbourne must satisfy the English language requirements. Prior studies may be credited towards your degree and potentially reduce the duration of your course. This is known as Advanced Standing (also known as credit or recognition of prior learning).

Applicants with the following may be awarded up to 50 credit points (4 subjects) of advanced standing:

  • An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in human resource management or a related discipline, and
  • A minimum of 50 credit points (or equivalent) of graduate study in human resources, business, management, organisational studies or equivalent.
