Overview

Support young people’s learning and wellbeing with a career in educational psychology

Pursue a career in education and wellbeing with a Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental). One of only four educational psychology degrees in Australia, this course will prepare you to help individuals with learning and developmental challenges. Start developing your practical abilities on placement from semester one, and graduate with highly sought-after skills in psychological assessment, counselling, and research.

Key features

  1. Become a registered educational psychologist. Register as a general psychologist when you graduate. You will be eligible for the two-year registrar program to become endorsed as an Educational and Developmental Psychologist.

  3. Access excellent employment opportunities. Graduates almost always gain employment by the start of the year after graduating and many are employed prior to graduating.

  1. Develop foundational and specialist skills. Guided by expert teaching staff, you will cover essential psychological skills including counselling, assessment, and research methods, and build specialist knowledge in human development and learning.
  2. Gain practical, real-world experience. Develop your practical skills through 1,000 hours of supervised placement in a range of settings including schools, hospitals, and community settings.
  3. Balance work and study. Choose to study full-time (2 years) or part-time (4 years), with some subjects offered partially in intensive Saturday workshops.
