A guide to entry scores for the European Baccalaureate (EB)
To be eligible to be considered for an offer, students who have completed the European Baccalaureate need to:
- achieve the required result on the European Baccalaureate, and
- satisfy the course prerequisites (by achieving the required scores in the approved prerequisite subjects), and
- satisfy the English language requirements.

English language requirements
Students must meet the University’s English language requirements by achieving the required score in an approved English language test, or through another accepted qualification.

Subject prerequisites
The following subjects meet the University’s prerequisite requirements for students completing the European Baccalaureate:
Mathematics prerequisite
- EB Elementary Mathematics (also called "3 period mathematics") satisfies the mathematics entry requirement for Bachelor of Agriculture. Students who have completed Elementary Mathematics can take the Calculus module of Calculus and Probability Online to satisfy the maths entry requirement for Arts (Economics major), Biomedicine, Commerce, Design (selected majors), and Science.
- EB Standard Mathematics (also called "5 period mathematics") satisfies the mathematics entry requirement for Bachelor of Agriculture, Bachelor of Arts (Economics major), Bachelor of Biomedicine, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Design (select majors) and Bachelor of Science (standard math).
- EB Advanced Mathematics satisfies the double math entry requirement for Bachelor of Science, and the math entry requirement for Bachelor of Agriculture, Bachelor of Arts (Economics major), Bachelor of Biomedicine, Bachelor of Commerce, and Bachelor of Design (select majors).
- Students can meet the standard and double math prerequisite also through an approved alternative pathway listed on the How to satisfy subject prerequisite page.
Biology prerequisite
- EB Biology meets the biology prerequisite for all programs Bachelor of Oral Health and Bachelor of Science.
- Students can also meet the biology prerequisite through an approved alternative pathway listed on the How to satisfy subject prerequisite.
Chemistry prerequisite
- EB Chemistry meets the chemistry prerequisite for Bachelor of Biomedicine, Bachelor of Oral Health, and Bachelor of Science.
- Students can also meet the chemistry prerequisite through an approved alternative pathway listed on the How to satisfy subject prerequisite.
Physics prerequisite
- Students can meet the physics prerequisite through an approved alternative pathway listed on the How to satisfy subject prerequisite page.
1Bachelor of Design – Mathematics requirement
The following majors require completion of secondary school mathematics: Civil Engineering Systems, Computing, Construction, Mechanical Engineering Systems, Property, and Digital Infrastructure Engineering Systems.
2 Bachelor of Fine Arts
A range of criteria is used for selection into the Bachelor of Fine Arts (all specialisations). Admission is based primarily on portfolio/audition/interview, or other course-specific additional requirements. Satisfactory completion of the high school qualification is still required. Fine Arts applicants must meet the English language requirements. Applicants must also satisfy the course-specific additional requirements, including submitting a supplementary application form – refer to the relevant Bachelor of Fine Arts page on Study for details.
3 Bachelor of Music
A range of criteria is used for selection into the Bachelor of Music (all majors). Admission is based primarily on audition, but satisfactory completion of the high school qualification is still required. Applicants must meet the English language requirements. Applicants must also satisfy the course-specific additional requirements, including submitting a supplementary application form – refer to the relevant Bachelor of Music page on Study for details.
