Understand and explore your course options
Plan your course preferences with confidence by referring to our ATAR guarantees, lowest selection ranks and adjusted Access Melbourne ATARs.
Domestic and onshore international school-leaver applicants who complete an Australian Year 12 qualification or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, apply for their preferred undergraduate course via VTAC, satisfy course prerequisites, achieve the published ATAR guarantee (or notional ATAR) for the intake and preference appropriately to receive an offer will be certain of a place in their chosen degree.
Please note that you need to be applying for entry into the intake immediately following the completion of your secondary schooling to be eligible for an ATAR guarantee. They'll be honoured in your main offer round; later rounds are subject to availability within the course.
This is the lowest ATAR score (rank) to which offers were made for each undergraduate course in the previous Semester 1 2025 intake and should be used as a guide only. Lowest selection ranks are not set in advance and vary from one year to the next, depending on how many eligible domestic current Year 12 students are in the applicant pool. Domestic 2026 Year 12 applicants who satisfy course prerequisites and achieve an ATAR or notional ATAR that is at-level with the 2025 lowest selection rank may be considered for a place in January offer round 2, but are not guaranteed. Some of our courses have filled the majority of available places after December offer round and January offer round 1 (with limited places only being held for specific applicant cohorts) – refer to the below table for details.
If you apply for Access Melbourne, our equity entry scheme, you may be eligible for guaranteed entry, if you are applying for the intake immediately following the completion of Year 12, meet course prerequisites and are confirmed eligible for consideration under our Access Melbourne circumstances: disadvantaged financial background, resident of a regional or remote area, refugee on a humanitarian visa, care leaver (part of difficult circumstances) or an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student.
Use the Access Melbourne eligibility calculator to receive an indication of the ATAR you will need to achieve to receive an Access Melbourne offer.
Please note that published Access Melbourne ATAR guarantees relate to the main offer round for start-year entry. Mid-year Access Melbourne entry is assessed based on availability within each course, which may result in higher entry standards.
