Admission criteria
To be considered for entry into this course, you must have:
- A Master of Nursing Science (or equivalent) OR a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent), AND
- A postgraduate qualification (minimum graduate certificate) in this clinical field (or equivalent)1, AND
- At least five years of experience as a registered nurse, with two years full-time equivalent (FTE) in this clinical field, and two years FTE of advanced nursing practice in the same clinical field within the last six years2.
You are also required to demonstrate:
- Current unrestricted registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), AND
- Current employment in an advanced clinical nursing practice role in the same clinical field as previous experience and education, AND
- Documentation of employer support, clinical teaching and supervision team support, and access to supernumerary Integrated Professional Practice (IPP) experience3.
1 Evidence and/or Advanced Standing will be grated based on studies completed outside this course and/or university according to the Advanced Standing Procedure.
2 The aim of this is to ensure that upon course completion you have the equivalent of three years full time (5000 hours) experience in an advanced nursing practice role within the last six years, which is one of the NMBA criteria for endorsement as a nurse practitioner. 3 IPP arrangements will be negotiated between the student, employer and the University. Supernumerary IPP may be completed in alternative agencies to the one in which the student is employed. Similar support arrangements will be required. ANMAC definition for supernumerary IPP.

English language requirements
