Late applications may be accepted based on the availability of places.
Students must be able to commence Introduction To Biomedical Research (BIOM40001) in a timely manner.
Timely applications will be prioritised for Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP).
Finding a Research Project/Supervisor
All students in the Master of Biomedical Science need to find a supervisor for their individual research project. This can be done prior to submitting an application or during the application process.
You can look for projects and supervisors by using the following resources:

- Project booklets published by departments
- Your lecturers if you are a current University of Melbourne undergraduate student
- Find an Expert
- Affiliated medical research institute's website
- Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute

- Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity

Application Process
Step 1: Submit an online application using link above, log in with your University of Melbourne credential if you are a current or previous University of Melbourne student/applicant, or select 'apply as a new student' if you are a new applicant.
Step 2: Once deemed eligible for course entry you will receive an email with your personal login to the Master of Biomedical Science Sonia Database with current available projects. (follow the instructions in the email to set up your access to Sonia).
Step 3: Use Sonia database and other resources listed above to search for a research project and speak to prospective supervisors (this can be started prior to submitting an application, or while your application is being assessed).
Step 4: Once have reached verbal agreement with a supervisor submit project request form via Sonia (using your personal login).
Step 5: Respond to your offer letter by the offer lapse date.
