This micro-credential is ideal for currently practising educators and school leaders in the K-12 sector who want to understand how teachers and students transition into innovative learning environments.

This course provides evidence of achievement against Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) standards.
Consider the physical aspects of learning environments
Gain a deeper understanding of the physical and design aspects of learning environments, including spatial typologies of design, pedagogy, acoustics, digital technology and furniture.
Examine successful transitions to new environments
Investigate the elements within a school ecosystem that can support teachers to successfully transition into innovative learning environments. Analyse characteristics of successful transitions and the role of leadership and change management in this process.
Develop a transition strategy to lead colleagues
Gain the capability to lead colleagues to adopt effective teaching practices within innovative learning environments. Develop the strategy to lead your school's transition and evaluate the impact it has on the broader school ecosystem.

Dr Marian Mahat
Associate Professor of Learning Environments
Marian researches how to improve student learning and outcomes in various educational contexts. She has over 20 years of professional and academic experience spanning several universities, the private sector and with local and federal governments. Marian's deep expertise in this field saw her appointed as Research Fellow and Research Manager for the Australian Research Council Linkage Innovative Learning Environments and Teacher Change (ILETC) project.
Dr Wesley Imms
Associate Professor; Head of Visual Art and Design Education; co-director of LEaRN
Wesley is currently the lead Chief Investigator on two Australian Research Council Linkage Projects aimed at improving the design and use of learning environments. He is co-director of the Learning Environment Applied Research Network (LEaRN), a multidisciplinary community of scholars investigating the impact of learning spaces in different contexts.
