  • CRICOS code: 105520C

Overview

With over thirty full-time academics and a broad range of leading architectural practitioners, the Architecture program has a depth and breadth of teaching and research performance unmatched within the Southeast-Asian and Australasian regions. Graduates will be equipped with the creative and critical thinking skills to push the envelope of architectural change in terms of the design and production of buildings as well as critique of their technical, aesthetic, social and environmental performance. The ethos of the program emphasises the central role of design in the studio. Students can take a research subject which may enable progression to further studies as a PhD candidate.

Our Landscape Architecture program is part of an accelerated professional degree for students from non-cognate undergraduate degrees. The dominant mode of teaching and learning is through design studios which are each 25 points. To be successful in this degree, a commitment of at least 25 points a semester is necessary. Graduates will be given a well-rounded understanding of landscape architectural history and theory which they will then draw upon in their design of ecologically sound and contemporary landscapes using the latest materials and technologies.

This combined program gives students a balance between freedom in design and creativity alongside furthering their passion for the environment.

Marissa Wong

“I want to start my own practice or join a practice, so being able to specialise in certain areas through studio selection and thesis work is valuable. The degree allows me to be in touch with relevant tools and practices which will give me a broader knowledge and awareness of global issues regarding the built environment as well as the development of design thinking and research skills.” Marissa Wong.
