A guide to entry scores for the Indonesian Senior Secondary School + SAT/ACT/AP

Indonesian National High School curriculum students can meet the requirements for direct entry by:

Graduating from Sekolah Menengah Atas/Madrasah Aliyah (SMA/MA), achieving the required GPA in 6 (six) grade 12 subjects and achieving the required test scores (SAT/ACT or AP aggregate score).

All applicants must have completed any course prerequisite subjects and meet English language requirements.

# A range of criteria is used for selection. Applicants must be qualified for University entry and have satisfied the course-specific additional requirements.

  • SAT scores are for the composite score from Evidence-based Reading and Writing, and Mathematics. ACT scores are for the composite score of the English, mathematics, reading, and science sections. The ACT writing section is not considered. The University does not accept super score SAT and ACT test results. Admissions is based on the highest composite score. SAT and ACT test results are valid for two years.
  • Students taking social science and science major during high school will be treated equally. However, the student must take note on degrees specific pre-requisite subjects.
  • Final grade calculation based on school report for grade 12 (semester 1 and semester 2) only, not include final exam (ujian akhir) score.
  • To satisfy the Mathematics prerequisite, student must have Advance Mathematics (Matematika Tingkat Lanjut) in their Grade-12 report.
  • Prospective students are welcome to apply with their first semester result together with IELTS and SAT/ACT/AP for process of conditional offer.
  • This requirement is only applicable to students who are studying the National Curriculum (SMA/MA), not applies for students currently undertaking the Cambridge A Level/IB Diploma program.

We will consider 6 subjects depending on the student's major during high school and the course they will apply to.
For example, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Design will calculate the best 6 subjects but must include English and Mathematics. While Bachelor of Biomedicine, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Oral Health will need to calculate the best 6 subjects including English, Mathematics and three (3) science subjects; Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Only if the subjects are academic and not extra-curricular subjects. Students will still need to meet the subject prerequisites and English.

We will calculate the average of both the practical and the knowledge components.

The University admissions team will average the GPA for both semester 1 and semester 2 to work this out.

Minimum score for the prerequisite subjects is 80.

Additional English test scores will be required to meet our English requirements.

No. This requirement only applies to students studying the National Curriculum; SMA/MA.

No. As mentioned, the requirements with SAT/ACT/AP and IELTS are only for students with an Indonesian National Curriculum background. This requirement is a new policy from the University of Melbourne, not replacing or setting up a new entry for those who scenarios.

Yes. All domestic students must apply through VTAC regardless of their Year 12 qualifications. The University undergraduate admissions team will then be able to assess the overseas qualifications individually to determine whether these are accepted pathways for entry to our undergraduate degrees.

Yes. We will only accept a gap in study of no more than 18 months, but only applicable if the student does not undertake any tertiary studies during the gap.

The student may consider applying for a Foundation program as a pathway to our Bachelor's degrees. The guaranteed pathway is Trinity College Foundation Studies.
