Planning your tax study

Melbourne Law School offers an extensive range of tax law subjects for graduates in law or graduates of other disciplines with relevant professional experience.

These range from a grounding in the fundamentals of Australian and international taxation law to advanced, specialised subjects exploring comparative trends and current developments in taxation law and policy including tax systems of major trading partners such as the US and Asian countries.

All subjects are taught by leading Australian and international tax experts. Some are taught throughout a semester with many delivered as short, five-day intensives.

Students complete a number of credit points depending on the qualification they are working towards. A combination of 6.25 and 12.5 credit point subjects can be undertaken to reach the required credits for each qualification. There are compulsory subjects depending on the chosen course of study.

Practitioners who do not wish to enrol in a degree course can enrol in individual subjects for professional development purposes.
