Research Training Program (RTP) Fee Offset Scholarship

The University of Melbourne offers a range of scholarship for students undertaking graduate research training. These scholarships are funded by the University, philanthropic gifts or Government grants.

All domestic students who are admitted to a Master by research or Doctoral degree at the University of Melbourne will receive a Research Training Program Fee Offset Scholarship to acknowledge the contribution from the Australian Government towards the cost of their tuition.

Other scholarships may provide a stipend towards the cost of living and a relocation allowance. International students may also receive Overseas Student Health Cover and a tuition fee offset.

Available to high achieving students undertaking graduate research at the University of Melbourne.

Course fees

The University of Melbourne offers one of the most generous scholarship schemes in Australia. All students admitted into the Doctoral program in Marketing on a full-time basis will receive full fee remission for all five years of the program.

Domestic students

All domestic students will receive full fee remission for all five years of the program. The Master of Commerce program will be funded through a scholarship provided by the University of Melbourne.

Domestic students who progress to the PhD will receive a Research Training Program Fee Offset Scholarship (RTP), which is funded by the Australian Government. If you are enrolled under the RTP you are exempt from tuition fees for the normal duration of your course. RTP-funded places are available to Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand Citizens.

International students

All international students will receive full fee remission for all five years of the program. The Master of Commerce program will be funded through a scholarship provided by the University of Melbourne.

International students who progress to the PhD will receive full fee remission through the continuation of a scholarship provided by the University of Melbourne.

Living stipend

All applicants made an offer of a place in a graduate research program will receive a AUD$34,400 per year living stipend (full-time only) and waived tuition fees for up to 5.5 years.

Research and conference funding

All students who progress to the PhD will receive have access to up to $A10,000 in funding to assist with research activities and attendance at high quality conferences.
