What you will learn
Gain contemporary skills and knowledge
As extended reality (XR) becomes more present in work and social spaces, the demand for virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) design skills is increasing. Forecasters predict more than 23 million jobs will be enhanced by these immersive technologies within the next ten years.
Delivered by Circuit Stream in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, this project-based live and online course covers the foundational skills needed to develop AR and VR using industry-standard tools, including Unity.
Over the course of 10 weeks, you'll learn from Circuit Stream's team of expert instructors in both VR and AR as you gain cutting-edge tools, processes, and workflows for a foundation in XR design and development.
Join weekly classes built to teach you the fundamentals of building mixed reality, AR, and VR experiences with Unity, and earn your XR Designer digital badge from Circuit Stream.
Be introduced to Unity technologies
Gain diverse skills to design XR applications with Unity, an industry-standard game engine used to build 3D projects. You'll be guided on how to create a new project in Unity and develop a 3D scene. You'll also learn to select, manipulate, save objects and populate your scene using prototypes you'll construct.
Gain essential programming skills
Understand the basics of C#, a high-level programming language commonly used to create games and 3D simulations. You'll not only learn C# programming fundamentals, but our team of expert instructors will ensure you develop a coder mindset for logic and effective problem-solving.
Upskill in virtual reality
VR allows us to simulate experiences that create a completely digital world. Enrol in XR Development with Unity and gain the technical competencies to implement interactions between players and GameObjects. You'll learn to create rich experiences for users and turn an application from a 360° video into interactive virtual reality.
Understand marker-based AR vs Markerless AR
Learn to use augmented reality triggers to activate different AR experiences. Explore how traditional marker-based AR is used to activate interactive experiences through specific objects such as QR codes and logos. You'll then use modern markerless AR to design digital applications that activate by scanning real-world environments.
Create your own game
Put your skills into practice and work as part of a team to create a game. You'll decide what you want to build: a prototype, a level, an idea, or an entire game. Receive expert feedback and showcase your new knowledge to current or future employers.
