This micro-credential is ideal for current and aspiring cybersecurity managers. It's valuable for everyone from Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) to IT Security Managers and Security Operations Centre (SOC) Managers.

To enrol, you require an undergraduate degree in any discipline.

This micro-credential has been developed with the Academic Centre of Cybersecurity Excellence (ACCSE) and is closely aligned with industry standards.

Learning and content has been informed by curriculum guidelines developed by the Joint Task Force on Cybersecurity Education as well as ISACA’s Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Body of Knowledge, meaning you can be confident your knowledge is up-to-date, applicable to the industry, and that you are well-placed to meet the growing demand for highly knowledgeable cybersecurity managers across sectors such as banking, high-tech manufacturing and government.

By the end of this course, you'll have an advanced understanding of cybersecurity risk and policy within your organisation. You'll be able to:

• Analyse the risk, policy and SETA practices of an organisation
• Construct recommendations addressing the risk, policy and SETA practices of an organisation to address deficiencies.

This course runs over four weeks, including one pre-teaching week, two weeks for delivery and one week for assessment.

Your total time commitment is approximately 42 hours, which includes:

• 8 hours guided online learning
• 15 - 20 hours independent study
• 15 - 20 hours assessment.

Assessment:

• Case analysis of an organisation’s risk, policy and SETA practices (100%).

Once you've completed this course, you will be awarded your Cybersecurity Management Practices micro-credential. This digital certificate will warrant the achievement of knowledge, skills and capabilities outlined in the learning outcomes. It may also include artefacts (such as videos and written material) related to both experiential and work-integrated learning, including translatable assessment that is practical to your professional life. You can also share your micro-credential digitally and via social media by adding it to your personal platforms, such as LinkedIn. See example certificate.

Cybersecurity Management Practices is part of the Cybersecurity Management series. To take this micro-credential, you first need to complete Cybersecurity in Organisations. Once you've completed these two, you can then go on to take the other micro-credentials in the series to deepen your knowledge and skills.
