Overview

Honours is available for this course

40+ different paths to take. Choose from more than 40 majors across science, engineering, IT, mathematics and more. Add a specialisation to build complementary expertise.

Course structure

24 subjects over three years (300 credit points total). Most students complete eight subjects (12.5 credit points each) per year of full-time study.

Major and elective subjects

Most of your subjects are in science. Some are electives, allowing you to explore different areas of science. Others are part of your major: a sequence of subjects that defines your specialty throughout your degree. In your first year you can pursue subjects related to your major and explore other subjects before deciding on what major you want to choose.

Below are the all the majors you could choose:

Tips for choosing a major

Specialisations

Use some of your electives to complete a specialisation, a great way to build complementary expertise alongside your major. A specialisation is four subjects (50 credit points) completed across second and third year.

Available specialisations:

  • Pure Mathematics
  • Physical Mathematics
  • Mathematical Operations Research
  • Statistics
  • Stochastic Processes
Breadth subjects

Use breadth to explore something you’ve always been curious about. Breadth subjects may even qualify you for graduate study in a field that’s very different to your major.
